NOV 2022 - South Korea 🇰🇷 서울

Writer: rachrachchangrachrachchang

DAY 3 // 4 November, Friday | We're here in Seoul!!!!!!!!!!

Seoul: 6°C

I accidentally clogged a toilet bowl at Seoul Station (is it I use too much toilet paper oops)... Char went to the toilet after that, hope her flush works.

.

.

.

There are two nearby Metro stations near our Hotel in Seoul! We can walk from Euljiro-1-Station or go by City Hall Station. We are unsure how to make our way from Euljiro-1-Station to the Hotel, it is the shorter walking distance option! This way also passes by Lotte Department Store and Star Avenue.

We took the other way via City Hall station instead as there were instructions on how to get to the Hotel, thru the underpasses.

We got out, and errrr we don’t really know which way. It is okay because the view in Seoul, right before our eyes, looks great!!!!!

We really got out from the wrong exit, our Hotel is so near yet so far??

(Also the Starbucks here very chio 😍)

We couldn't cross some paths, so now we went back down and walked thru underpasses! We got to the right exit, but there are 2 long flights of stairs to overcome with our heavy luggage before we arrive successfully! An ahjussi noticed we were struggling to climb up with our things, and he helped us both at the same time to bring our luggage all the way up, really kamsahamida!!!!!

Right next to our hotel, is another Starbucks hehe

Crown Park Hotel Myeongdong Seoul

.

.

.

After we successfully reached our Hotel, put things down to travel light, we went to explore the area!

We needa recharge before our next agenda!!!!!!

Me on an eating spree:

Next, we were on our way to Hoehyeon Station and took a 20-minute walk after exiting Exit 4. I think we are here.

Namsan Park | 남산공원

Everywhere looks so autumny!!!!

.

.

.

This is a famous place featured in many dramas, where couples go on dates ❤️

날씨가 좋다, so we hiking lo!

Our real destination is N Seoul Tower, so near yet so far...

The walk/hike took us at least an hour (or more), I got lowkey scold YS (he loves hiking), while I walked up...

The view got better as we ascend! WORTH IT!

Along the way, we saw buses going down and Char felt exhausted with muscle aches already, she wasn't very happy to keep going. But we were already halfway up, just keep going!

Seeing this bus stop, she felt even more sian.

"Later when we get there, want to drink coke?"

Char: Okay

😍😍😍😍

We are almost there~

When we arrived at the foot of N Seoul Tower, we wanted Coke but no shops were selling it, and we settled for drinks from Twosome Place:

(Mango Strawberry Smoothie)

We were already cold, despite the workout, and getting a cold drink did not help... My fingers were so cold, I felt like they were going to fall off anytime soon...

(love how my hair is subtly red and matches Seoul in Autumn!)

SEOUL~

Even tho I was freezing + unwell for a week, my photo skills didn't disappoint:

And featuring how I was dressed (while taking the picture)

HAHAHAHA

The love locks place is pretty la, but taking photos there with Char, haha no thanks!

We went to claim our N Seoul Tower Observatory ticket (we bought it on Klook) and the wait was a good 30 minutes!

N Seoul Tower | N서울타워

The lift up the observatory was real quick, the ear block is real too!

THE VIEW OF CITY LIGHTS!!

I found an empty seat and sat here for some time, just taking in the view!

They have a lot of cute souvenirs too, and really how could I leave without getting anything?

HEHE BUY LE, FASTER KEEP INSIDE BAG

.

.

.

Time to leave now~

As the sun has already set, the cable car ticket office was closed, and we can't get single-ride tickets down. We will need to hike our way back lo

Char wasn't wearing the correct footwear ( I don't think she even has any running/sports shoes lol) and was feeling really cold.

The hike down was much faster (maybe because we cold haha)

It was quite a crisis, trying to find our way back to the nearest Metro station! We went the wrong way initially and eventually seemed to have found the right direction, but couldn't really see a clear way to the Metro...

I remembered seeing a man, wearing an army print jacket across the road, I was planning to ask him for directions when he crossed over, as he looked like someone who knows English.

While we were talking, suddenly we heard a loud crash and Char told me it was a tire puncture ba, but the noise was way too loud + scary to be a tire puncture leh.

We walked a little more and saw the guy in army print jacket lying on the ground motionless, lying in an awkward position. His boots also flew off and were no longer on his feet.

The car's front window shattered, and the young driver came out of the car, panicking while trying to get through the emergency service line.

I wanted to help, but I can't speak Korean to explain what happened + the current address, all we could do, was watch.

I asked to stay here until the medics/support arrives. We waited until the help came, and luckily the guy in army prints was conscious after 20 minutes and was sent to the hospital to treat his injuries.

The accident was on an overhead (?) road, and we saw a lift to go down which seems closer to Seoul Metro Station) and we took it.

It's a long path that leads us back to the Metro Station:

Our next destination was Lotte Mart! Char saw the mart (from outside), and commented: "Lotte Mart is just a mart ah"

ARBO THEN

She wasn't very happy and wanted hot food, so we went to Seoul Main Station to find a place to eat.

Seoul Tonkatsu | 서을돈사스

Their cheese tonkatsu sold out already... so I ordered their regular!

Char ordered soba, and felt even colder...

Later she went to grab hot coffee from a donut shop nearby, and I saw SONGHWA UNNIE!!!

(on an advertisement, of course)

LOTTE Mart

(Actually, they got food court leh)

The plan was to come at the start of our vacation, to grab a few snacks to try and we can come back closer to the end of our trip, to buy whatever we think is nice! I got a few items today to try out, so excited!

I bought some almonds, and KANU coffee, triple shot latte (because I thought SG don't have lol) for family and friends!

Char is a huge fan of snacks (as compared to me), she got two items only and said nothing much (HUHHHHH)

We took the Metro and got back to our Hotel around 10 pm. I'm ending today's post with:

DAY 4 // 5 November, Saturday | This hotel doesn’t have air conditioning (not sure if it is for colder seasons only), so we have to regulate our room temperature by opening the window. I was sleeping on the bed closer to the window, so I want the temperature to be just right

(usually is too cold, or too hot at night during my sleep la)

Today in Seoul: 8°C

Ewha Womans University | 이화여자대학교

The streets leading up to the University were rather quiet today, maybe because it was a Saturday. The good thing about this was we get to take pictures of the view, with few people around!

Featuring chio picture of Char in Hanguk!

And us, loving the sunlight!

✨✨✨✨

.

.

.

Fall vibes streets 🍁🍁🍁🍁

We quickly took this picture and zao, as we were afraid of cars coming (also recalling yesterday's car accident).

We walked around at Sinchon, and kept moving since most shops were closed ): until we saw a tteobokki stall in an open-air eating area:

The tteobokki was so spicy, but the sauce goes well with the fried items! We got fishcake soup as service~

On our way out of here, we ordered coffee from one of the stalls. I got Dalgona Coffee!!!

It was quiet around here, and I got the opportunity to snap this empty street view of Sinchon, Seoul!

We never entered this shop, but I think I can definitely vibe with this Wine Cafe!

오늘, 와인한잔

(today, let's drink wine!)

We took the train from Sinchon to Hongik University Station for Hongdae Free Market! At the train station, we went to use the toilet and I saw Kim Jong Min-ssi's advertisement hehe

(he was my ideal partner for a period of time hehe)

I think Jong Min is a really kind-hearted person, even tho he can seem a little silly (傻人有傻福), but he works hard and is smart. He is an idol singer, funny and charismatic.

(I have endless good things about him to talk about)

Char was shocked to hear that and verified if Jong Min's looks are what I like.

Girl, you think looks are all that matters but the truth is, having a kind partner is better than having a good-looking partner. If you are picking people based on their looks, I'm sure people are picking you based on your looks too.

(perhaps the reason why online dating isn't working out for Char 🙃)

.

.

.

Hongdae | 홍대

We got scarfs at one of the shops along the way, I bought hair oil and some skincare items from Saem! Char bought her contact lens from Olens shop here in Hongdae!

Later, we passed by this memorial event, the area was completely decorated in white and then I read the first few words, ITAEWON.

(The incident at Itaewon was so sad, many young people lost their lives...)

We got tired from all the shopping we did today, and went to grab a cup of coffee~

It was a pity we didn't see anyone performing on the streets of Hongdae...

.

.

.

After our coffee break, we put in our best effort to find their famous accessories shop here near Hongik University area, and made it in the end!

Sigonggan | 시공간

I got a snowflake necklace for Apple, a horseshoe bracelet for YT, and a necklace for myself!

Next, we took the subway to Sangsu Station and walked quite a fair bit, looking out for this place:

Gyeoul's House | 겨울이 모무는 집

The staff here are fluent in English, and the moment we stepped in, they guided us to the room where the other visitors were queueing at:

We waited for less than an hour, and we could enter!

After we kept our things in the locker room and went through the mandatory briefing, we were given a few treats for our interactions with the dogs.

SO CUTE!!!!

(The little one, we were advised not to play with him - FEISTY ALERT)

They have this segment where they let us record or take pictures of all their dogs running into the first-floor room:

And another where they helped us take group photos with a few more obedient dogs:

(Didn't quite like the photos the staff took, 1) image is slanted + slightly blurry, 2) the dogs looked fake??)

There was a dog who is great at selca! So we all took turns taking selfie with the dog:

안녕🐾 glad that my picture with this fluffy ball turned out well, we both looked happy!

We also got to move up to Level 2 of this place, and there was an ice-feeding session too! Check out how excited they are about the icy snack:

.

.

.

Then after this, we went back to our Hotel, passing by Lotte Department Store and their Star Avenue!

STAR AVENUE ✨

SUPER JUNIOR!!!!!!!!

Close up of Oppas' handprints:

We dropped our things and made a special effort not to sit down (if not we will not want to leave already), to go for food!

Myeongdong food street is just across this street (we have to cross via underpass):

.

.

.

I bought many cute socks hehe (in a purple plastic bag)

The street was very crowded, with a lot to eat and a lot to shop for!

FRIED CHICKEN!

TTEOBOKKI WITH CHEESE

Korean 糖葫蘆 with their Muscot Shine

FRIED SQUID

We ordered a few items and ate them sitting on one of the benches!

We also got some stuff back to our Hotel room to eat! Hotel room shenags:

+soju hehe

After brushing my teeth, I went to briefly pack my loot, and recalled I still have this dalgona candy (bought from an old granny earlier)! If I leave it for tomorrow, our room might have ants, so I ate it and brushed my teeth all over again...

DAY 5 // 6 November, Sunday | 굿모닝, we woke up to 14°C morning~

I love this scarf so much!!!!

On our way out of our Hotel, we passed by Star Avenue hehe and then it’s Super Junior’s Hologram:

(不知道 why Char not interested, then still stand in my way with SJ)

.

.

.

Loving today’s outfit look~ Maybe going to see handsome oppa (if lucky), 穿什么都很开心💕

I’m feeling so excited to visit Yesung Oppa’s Café, Mouse Rabbit! BUT WAIT WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT IS NOT OPEN??! 😭😭😭😭

I googled, and they said it opens at 10 am leh, but it seems like the updated news is 11 am… So we decided to stop by a cool expresso bar nearby to get our daily dose of caffeine and delicious pastries heh

Look at the pastries here!!!

We got our drinks and something to go with it!

.

.

.

So 巧, 6 November is Super Junior’s debut date, and today is their 17th anniversary 💙 💙💙 💙

.

.

.

Time to head to Mouse Rabbit!

MOUSE RABBIT

我的男神💙✨

On the basement floor, we will have to take off our shoes, so we were not very keen to go down, the vibes:

We were at the counter, thinking of what drinks to get since we already had coffee earlier, and were also not that hungry to try any of their cakes, etc. I saw the cafe has souvenirs, more like Yesung merchandise HAHA

AND SO I GOT A MUG ✌🏻

(better cushion it well, so that it reaches Singapore in one good piece mannn)

We got our drinks and decided to chill on the first floor, with their windows open, the weather was cool enough, and sipping hot americano in this weather is daebak!

COMMONGROUND

I always see people posting pictures, OOTD, etc at Commonground and I don't think I missed out hahaha. The overall concept is chio, but looks better without anyone posting in them, 아니요?

.

.

.

Managed to take nice pictures for Char here, probably ideal pictures for dating app hah

Interior:

We went around the various shops, checking out things, issa 不错! Even their toilets are of a different class of aesthetic~

.

.

.

Rant insert – STAIRS

From Konkuk University station, we took the Metro to Cheongdam station, made a 10 minutes walk surrounded by beautiful trees and high-rise buildings, to our next destination!

I thought this looks cool, but no idea what it represents.

Coex Starfield Library | 별마당도서관

I'm not sure if anyone comes here to actually read, but all the tourists come here for the Gram HAHA

After we explored the library and opened a few books that we cannot understand a thing, we decided it is time for Baskin Robbins!

I got a honey flavor one hehe

Less than $5 happiness!!!!!

It's a huge mall, we came out from another exit to get to our preferred Metro Station, and out we came, I saw the walls with SM Entertainment artists' handprints!!!!

There are many advertisement banners everywhere.

.

.

.

How can we visit Korea, without eating Ginseng Chicken Soup?

Korea Ginseng Chicken Soup

Wah wah I'm so excited to try their Michelin Star Ginseng Chicken Soup~

It was early 5ish pm, and the restaurant was pretty occupied, must be good?! We were also looking at how Koreans eat their Ginseng Chicken Soup, do they add Ginseng wine to their soup, or drink it on the side?

😋😋😋😋

After dinner, I thought of going to Haru and One Day, but aiya, feeling quite tired and decided to call it a day.

I love how this street happens to be completely empty~ (awesome for my photo)

We got back to our Hotel, and it was time for 딸기 우유🍓

(semi-featuring all the things I bought in the background haha)

We had dinner at 5 ish pm, and of course, we enjoyed another round of dinner!

(1,000 won instant noodles 😋)

DAY 6 // 7 November, Monday | Having been to the other palace, also the prettier one during my solo trip in 2018, this time we’re visiting Gyeongbuk Palace!

It is closed on Tuesday, so before the trip, we planned to visit on a Monday and do our day trip/tour on Tuesday instead.

At Gyeongbokgung Palace Station:

Gyeongbokgung Palace | 경복궁

With a short walk out, we entered their little entrance to the palace area, then stepped into this wide landscape:

I fell in love with free walking tours in 2016, and the palace offers free walking tours in English, so why not!

(this is Char’s first time on any walking tour)

(Note: still have to pay for Palace admission ticket)

One of the key places on this tour is this entertainment house with a lake view~

I like hearing about all the little details that you only get to know, during walking tours, such as the number of guardians on the roofs, and the dragon symbol's absence in the King’s quarters (you can’t have two dragons in a place, that makes sense!)

Our tour guide is a cute lady in Hanbok, bringing us around the palace grounds:

❤️✨

I think it is perfect to visit Korea in Autumn, it’s cold but not too cold, and the autumn leaves and trees!

We also saw this quarter, with adjustable doors to help with ventilation during the summer, and block the wind during winter:

Other cool things I saw was the colours of their roofs, some are maintained to retain the natural dye colours while some, touch up work were done to keep the colours vibrant:

Gwanghwamun | 광화문

This makes me hum Kyuhyun’s “At Gwanghwamum”!

Most guards have their masks down, not sure why this guy kept his, and we can only see his eyes! From his eyes, I think he is probably quite a handsome dude hah

.

.

.

We saw online that there are a lot of kimbap shops around here, but somehow we didn’t see any until much later after we walked further:

The menu:

We can help ourselves to their side dishes and soup, to go with our orders!

(all their kimbap got perilla leaves)

.

.

.

Bukchon Hanok Village | 북촌한옥마을

Once we entered the Hanok area, we went to randomly explore around, and got soft serve on our way from one of the shops:

Further down, we saw a few iconic stretches of houses and a lot of tourists! There are actually people living in this cultural place, so on-site ambassador’s job is also to remind tourists to be as quiet as possible.

Here’s a picture of Charissa looking happy at Bukchon Hanok Village!

Then us, and me all excited to capture the tourist load right here:

I think the tour guide even hired a professional photographer to help a whole tour bus of tourists to take photos while they were dressed in hanbok!

Favourite ❤️

VILLAGE PICTURES

.

.

.

After our adventures at Bukchon Hanok Village, we walked and found our way to Café Onion which is nearby Anguk Station!

Cafe Onion Anguk | 카페 어니언 안국

This is a super popular bakery visited by locals and tourists!

I like dining/chilling at outdoor locations in good weather (no sweat weather hah), it is such a different experience that we can’t have in Singapore (due to the heat)…

Our seats were the corner, this Korean couple (not featured in the picture) was very nice, they moved off and even cleaned up before they left so that they can offer us their seats, clean!

They have indoor seating too~

Then we went indoors to select and place our orders!

What I mean by long queue + crowded 😂

OMG, THE BREAD AND PASTRIES!!!!

Some of the pastries Char wanted to try were sold out, but it is okay we still got many options here. We queued for quite some time before it was our turn at the cashier!

Char ordered Iced Vanilla Bean Latte (Item 5) and I got an Oatly Latte (Item 6) + delicious Items 1 to 4. I have no idea how they gonna pronounce ‘Rachel’ in Korean, I just said my name as it is. The receipt says 레이첼님(Le-i-chel nim), I guess that works hah

😋😋😋😋

They were all so good, I think we stayed here for almost 2 hours, just relaxing and trying to finish everything we ordered hahaha

Bonus picture of me eating~

(I really got the 福祥, I have to admit)

It was 4ish/5 pm, and we were too full for anything else, we decided to go shop at Lotte Mart! Time to buy things to bring home for loved ones~

.

.

.

The first time we came, Char didn’t buy much stuff and I have been consistently buying stuff, so today okay la, I came out of Lotte Mart with 1 reasonable bag of things.

Her:

HAHAHAHAHA

I think she will have problems fitting it into her luggage hah, but NO RAGRATS!!!!

After we dropped off our things at our Hotel, we made sure not to sit down (again), otherwise, I wouldn’t want to leave liao. We went to the convenience store right outside our Hotel to pick out what we wanna have for our dinner:

+ beer and other drinks hehe

DAY 7 // 8 November, Tuesday | Today we woke up extra early as we have a ride to catch at 730 am!

The street outside our Hotel, 6.53 am:

7.02 am:

Random note: the guy should be quite an oppa hor

Just saying, Korea is 1 hour ahead so yes we were up at GMT+8, 4ish am…

(on a non-working day, WHAT!!!!!!)

And the weather report for today: 9°C

We arrived earlier at Hongik University Station Exit 8 early!

We were the first group of customers picked up so we got the backseats, 不错. I started eating the onigiri I got yesterday, on the van.

Then later others started hopping on:

(oops, I think I accidentally snored while sleeping)

After a two hours drive out of Seoul to Gapyeong, we’re at our first tourist destination of today!

Alpacca World | 알파카월드

The first attraction is where the alpacas gather, and we were in time to watch them charge their way from this place to another.

We then followed them to their place of rest (does 'place of rest' mean where it is buried?):

Featuring the Indonesian girl from our tour group, who came here for a nose job. I admire her courage to go around with the tape on her nose hah, maybe it is quite common to look liddis in Korea?

We have about 2 hours to explore this park! Sounds like it’s a lot but it isn’t because this place is pretty huge:

We did a lot of walking, there were slopes and stairs, and I felt like I cannot breathe, wearing my mask lor

Although “Alpaca World” suggests this place is only about alpacas, it is not true, there are many other animals in this park, such as rabbits, dears, and eagles(?).

Omg, look at this coin, so cute la! We can use this token to exchange for a cup of animal food, to feed them!

Everybody is here for the alpacas! I felt sorry for the sheep, there was even one who went to bang into the railing, just to get our attention to feed them ):

So here’s me trying to rear sheep:

.

.

.

We went back to the initial holding area for alpacas, we have to be very careful when opening the gate as any one of these fluffy clouds may just run out:

Time to feed alpacas!!!!!

I saw a few eating the paper cups (to hold the feed), and I pulled them out of their mouths, no chewing of paper cups please.

Note: alpacas are very soft!

The pictures I took of Charissa feeding alpacas:

(hire me! It is true I take nice pictures and ensure all your best experiences are captured in photographs)

I don’t know if those people who don’t take nice photos are just bad at it, or simply lack the effort...

Here’s mine, and she (in the photo) can be any girl on the street, and not me HAHA

We made sure we were out of here in time, worried that our tour guide will leave without us 😂

Their souvenir shop has endless cute alpacas hehe

(I did not get one, v good)

I went to their café shop instead to buy custard/chocolate alpaca-shaped bread and an iced latte~

.

.

.

Then, our tour guide drove us to a nearby place with a lot of food options.

We had yoogane:

I like how the staff here are muscular young men, cooking your food hehehe

(no pics of them tho)

✌🏻

.

.

.

Gangchon Rail Park | 강촌레일파크

This is a must-visit place by many others but my personal review is, I don't think I will come again tho, it isn't fantastic hah

There was some time before we get on, so our tour guide helped us all to take photos and we even played some games using their facilities there.

We were planning to pay more to ride together, just the two of us but our tour guide had arranged for us, so we will be riding with the couple from our tour group.

I think the guy will feel obligated to be paddling hard to move us all 😂😂 😂😂

I have no idea why my calves kept knocking into the seat, and it hurts so much to cycle, but I got contribute nevertheless (with accompanying tsk, and ouch)

There are different themes through the tunnels, but I wasn’t very impressed haha so not many pictures from the view from the ride.

🚲🚲 LEGS DAY^

The ride ends at a platform, and we all had to get off then later there will be a train that comes to pick us up. The instructions were unclear, maybe because it was in Korean and we were confused…

Then I couldn’t resist not getting anything after this paddling session, so I got coffee-flavoured ice! It was freezing, and my hands were cold but no ragrats!

We waited for 20 minutes before the train arrived, I think everyone was just tired to say anything, and the others from the tour group seemed to be depending on me, and following us. I understand some Korean la, and dare to ask restaurant staff things but that does not make me reliable on where to get off 😂

Our tour guide was waiting for us across the road when we arrived, and we were shortly on our way to our last destination for today!

.

.

.

Nami Island | 남이섬

Our tour guide told us what are some of the key places at Nami Island that we have to take pictures with/of, and the exciting food they have here.

When we boarded the ferry, it was surprisingly empty, maybe because most of the tourists were already on Nami Island 😂

The previous time I came in 2018, the entire ferry was completely full, and I didn’t even see they have a mirror on the ferry HAHA

나무를 좋아

While we were walking, I took this picture of Charissa at Nami Island:

We got here at 4ish pm, and the sun will set at 5 plus so we need to be quick and make full use of sunlight time!

.

.

.

🍁🍁🍁🍁

This is one of the most iconic stretches of trees ❤️

I'm so in love with 🍁🍁🍁🍁

Then we started walking around the stalls, trying to find their famous snowman hotteok, the walk was worth it!!! It was so good, that I ordered another one heh 😋

Here’s a picture of me eating it with so much happiness hahaha

After we ate, I didn’t know why suddenly my legs gave way when we were on our move to see other things, I sat there for a minute or two, wondering if I pulled anything. In the end, it wasn’t anything major, thankfully.

Charissa complained of muscle ache every day, but the interesting thing is, I don’t get muscle ache or feet pain from all the walking in South Korea. Hmm maybe I meant to be 한국사람

We decided to walk another path, along the outer parts of the island to experience another landscape! I feel like if we had more time, there is really so much more to explore, especially the scenery by the water.

Not sure why I didn't take more selfies in Korea, with the nice weather and makeup look, this is one of the selfies I took with chio view, and my hair colour matches autumn hehe

It was much quieter along the sides, but then we realised we also needed more time to travel back to the ferry pick-up point (by 6 pm), then we started rushing and made our way back.

The sun has set, as we briskly walk the last few stretches. This place looks different but is still great:

In our tour group, there were two girls who came to take step ig pictures haha, and we didn’t see them around when we were waiting for the ferry. It was either they were very late or had already gone back, since no sunlight, no step pictures. They didn’t bring their coat to Nami Island, even tho our tour guide clearly said it will be cold. 爱美咯, hope they got pretty pictures~

After a close to 2 hours drive back to Seoul, we reached Myeongdong at about 8 pm.

I had 12% phone battery left, and Charissa’s portable died so we just gotta make it hah

We looked around for food, guess what we having for dinner!

I love their pickled radish~

치맥 - FRIED CHICKEN & BEER 🍗🍺

The aftermath of drinking:

HELPS

.

.

.

Charissa laughs for no reason after drinking and I look like a tomato, we went down the streets of Myeongdong to shop for some last-minute items, and I got another neck cream hehe

Tonight is our last night in Seoul )):

I packed most of my things ahead, as a way to gauge how much can I buy hahaha, so I didn't have a lot of packing work for tonight yayyyy

DAY 8 // 9 November, Wednesday | We slept in until close to check-out time, then checked out and left our things with the Hotel reception, before we headed out for lunch!

We have been seeing videos of people eating marinated crabs (yes, they’re raw), my dad also watched shows and wanted to try it. I am not a fan of mushy food, or things that are too soft, so I am on the fence about this.

BUT 都来了!

ODARIJIP

Oi SHINee’s Minho came here to eat before leh!

I like the restaurant's layout, we sat near the windows, so it was cold throughout our lunch, but I enjoyed the window seat view~

80,000 WON MARINATED CRABS

😋

The meal came with rice, kimchi stew, fluffy steamed eggs, and a whole suite of side dishes! We also got on the house marinated prawns!

(so so only)

There are a few ways to enjoy marinated crabs, and I’m loving this so much!!!!!!

.

.

.

(low key food coma)

This meal was super full for us haha, time to go digest this off!

(loving these jeans~)

We took the Metro to Yeouinaru Station:

(Not sure why the houses here look quite run down)

Hangang Park | 한강시민공원

On our way into the park, we saw this ahjussi selling rolled ice cream, and hehe why not! I got the vanilla and Charissa ordered the Oreo one

Random park view and chill

The wind was pretty strong, and it was chilling sitting outdoors, but we don’t always get such opportunities in Singapore, so let’s enjoy this~

.

.

.

We didn’t manage to get our daily dose of caffeine at Hangang Park, we went back to Myeongdong instead.

Last street food eats:

Then coffee!

I got Toffee Nut Latte~

The Gwailo, Clara texted me to help add her back in the group chat, and we had a nice catch-up, omg I miss this girl!

Goofy insert:

(at Starbucks)

.

.

.

We picked up our luggage at 6ish pm and made our way for the train ride to Seoul station, followed by AREX to the airport!

On our AREX ride, a Korean auntie came to ask me where is her seat, she can’t get to the correct car. I explained to her that I’m not Korean, and where she has to go to get to the right car, and her seat. She still wasn’t sure, or maybe I should really learn to speak Korean… I walked with her to the right car + seat before heading back to mine.

This is not the first incident, of Koreans asking me for directions HAHAHA I also don’t know leh

We arrived at 8ish pm, checked in our luggage, and Charissa has an additional bag for her snacks haha

Mine was 16.5 kg, SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT MORE STUFF

.

.

How could I resist not buying from FRESH lip colour collection!? It was not available in Singapore then, so I bought “Petal” and “Icon” after finding out from the sales girl that these are popular colours.

We thought the shops will be open in Departure Hall, and we can grab our dinner here but most shops are closed. What’s open?

STARBUCKS! I got a cheese bagel and a strawberry yogurt drink. I have to comment that the bagel was mehh

We waited until it was time to board our flight scheduled to depart at 11.10 pm KST. Charissa and I managed to sleep on the plane, ate breakfast, and also talked about our next holiday destination!

DAY 9 (?) // 10 November, Thursday | We touched down in Singapore at 4-ish am, and I was feeling super exhausted. I used to be able to do overnight flights and feel okay after touching down, but this time…

(is it because of age?)

Initially, I wanted to take MRT home, but then decided to just cab home instead! I got home at 5.36 am, and luckily the wooden door was not locked. I showered and went to bed, I woke up at 1-ish pm, had my lunch, and watched k-wanderers, the show I briefly watched on the flight to South Korea! I also did some unpacking.

Already thinking about my next trip~
